Who doesn’t love climbing a mountain every now and then? Today, I wanted to spotlight some of the hills and mountains near Melbourne that may be worth checking out.

      Mount Macedon:
      Height: 1,001 metres
Distance from Melbourne: Around 64 km northwest
Mount Macedon is a peaceful spot and a refreshing escape from the city hustle. There are several trails that are good options for a day hike.

      Mount Dandenong:
      Height: 633 metres
Distance from Melbourne: Roughly 35 km east
The Dandenongs are a great place to immerse yourself in lush fern glades and eucalyptus forests. A popular route incorporating the peak is the Mount Dandenong via Kyeema Track and Singleton Terrace trail.

      Mount Donna Buang:
      Height: 1,250 metres
Distance from Melbourne: About 95 km east
The summit of Mount Donna Buang offers panoramic views over the Yarra Valley and Victorian Alps. Walks here include Mt Donna Buang to 10 Mile Picnic Area, Mt Donna Buang to Mt Boobyalla, and Mt Donna Buang return via Mt Victoria and 10 Mile Picnic Area.

      Where else?
