Hey all, another gear review from me, this time sharing my thoughts on the Ledlenser H7R Core headlamp. I’ve been using it for a while now, mainly for car camping trips.
Brightness: This thing is a beast! With 1000 lumens, it’s like having a car headlight strapped to your head. Perfect for setting up the tent in the dark or evening bushwalks.
Advanced Focus System: You can easily switch from a broad flood beam to a focused long-distance beam. It’s like having two headlamps in one.
Battery Life: Pretty good. I haven’t had to recharge it often, and it even has a battery level meter, which is a nice touch.
Build Quality: Feels durable and well-made. It’s also dustproof and waterproof, so it can handle a bit of rough treatment.
Ease of Use: No complicated button sequences here. Just a straightforward knob for adjusting brightness and focus.
Weight: At 259g, it’s a bit on the heavy side. My Black Diamond Storm is only 112g, and that’s not even particularly light for a hiking headlamp. So personally I wouldn’t recommend the Ledlenser for overnight hikes.
Magnetic Charger: Some others have mentioned that the magnetic charger can be a bit finicky. Haven’t had issues myself, but worth noting.
All in all, it’s a really great headlamp for car camping or short evening hikes. The brightness and battery life are standout features. But if you’re planning an overnight trek, maybe stick to something lighter.
Anyone else tried this headlamp? What are your thoughts?
